Schools like ours run on tuition and fundraising. Your tax-deductible* contribution to Alexandria Friends School will greatly help us carry out our mission to help students who may have few (if any!) alternatives for completing their middle and high school educations.
Current pressing needs (for 2011-2012):
- iPads for our teachers to help us prepare the new STEM curriculum using Apple apps
- support for our scholarship fund
- newer computers (with DVD drives) for computer science class so we can learn web design
- mathematica software (and a computer to run it) so our algebra and pre-calculus students can improve their graphing skills
- a small school bus for field trips, science and sport classes, and other transportation needs
We are convinced that if the people who need us know about us, we will be fully enrolled. As yet, the word is taking time to spread and our advertising budget is severely limited.
In addition, there are students whom we could serve but whose families cannot afford our tuition. Your generous donation could make the difference in providing a deserving student with the support s/he needs to enroll.
