HOMEWORK
AFS Homework Policy
While we recognize that homework can be a useful extension of classroom work, we at Alexandria Friends School strive to make sure that the amount of homework is never onerous. Homework requirements are set by the individual classroom teacher according to the way a particular subject is taught by that individual. A student will most likely find, therefore, that there will be more homework in some courses than in others. Rarely will a student have homework for all of her/his classes on any given night. Teachers will generally try to spread assignments out over a manageable period of time. Fifth-period Renaissance classes (such as art, sports, film appreciation, etc.) rarely, if ever, have assigned homework.
